Groceries
As well as fresh produce, also sell an extensive range of organic groceries and cooking essentials, eco-friendly cleaning products, etc. For example, we stock a number of different types of flour including spelt flour, wholemeal and white baking and bread flours including, when we can, some locally produced flour from Northumberland.
The range also includes cereals, pasta and noodles, rices, pulses, soups, passata, tomato ketchup and puree, our own and also some separately produced jams, honey and spreads, beans, chickpeas, pulses and seeds, drinks and squashes, eco friendly / organically produced kitchen roll, toilet paper, aluminium foil, handmade soaps, cleaning products, and “Ecover” washing up liquids, laundry liquids and fabric softeners. The washing up liquids, laundry liquids and fabric softener is available as refills at a substantial reduction in cost compared to new packs so why not try these and reduce both packaging waste and the price (we won’t be upset if your didn’t get the original bottle from us – just bring it and refill it anyway!).
We also stock organic snack bars and treats, fair trade and / organic teas, coffees and infusions.
For more unusual organic and fair trade products, we’re working with Durham Food Co-op (www.durhamfoodcoop.net) to create a marketplace for bulk ordering more expensive or unusual goods. The website has much more information.
